I am new to the painting world. I enjoyed art a lot as a child and lost interest by high school. Working in communications, I picked up an eye for graphic design and have worked in the field for a number of years. I rediscovered painting as a result of my preschool-aged son loving art. Starting with tempera, then acrylic, and now oils, I’ve worked my way back into creating in this way. Although I know Bob Ross gets some criticism from the art community, I love how his style makes art accessible for all people. While I really enjoy his style, I hope to take some of his ideas and adapt them to a more impressionistic style as that is my preference.
