Oil on canvas paper | 9”x12” | Around where I live there’s a patch of hiking trail woods that grows paw-paw trees. They are an odd fruit sometimes called “hillbilly mangoes.” Their flavor is a cross between a banana and a mango with the texture of an avocado. Today, I picked one of their leaves and an unripe fruit to paint.
Nice painting! I’ve never heard of a paw paw. Had to Google this and now I really want to try one! Looks like they are in season in the fall in Michigan so I will have to scour farmers markets and see if I can find it anywhere.
Good luck looking for them!
