Sunset Aglow

Turnbull 30 Oct 2024

My 4th Bob Ross. This one taught me how to scrape paint off and try something again…a lot.
Pros: Pretty sunset, river looks decent, mist turned out rolling looking and ………misty? dark side of the mountains shading surprisingly turned out well for an experiment.
Cons: The background mountains and snow tops…..not so good, clouds are hit and miss.

That's a nice glow in the sky.

The painting doesn't have to be finished until you say it is. Whatever you don't like about the snow and the background mountains (they look fine to me), you can go back and change. It might be too late to re-do them completely, but you can still add little details, highlights or shadows to them as finishing touches.

Nice try 👍🏼🇩🇪It looks like a lot of paint to me, a little less could help

To my eye this is a very nice composition. I really like your background mountains…it gives your painting depth. I also think your clouds are fine. You have a real knack for this!

your sunset is awesome, I like how saturated it is, like you have the perfect amount of paint so you don't see through to the bare canvas. And the gradient from red > orange > yellow is beautiful. great work!

@Regan
Very true! You are looking at the 9th-10th version of the mountains. I finally had to settle on what is seen, or risk going crazy. lol

Very nice
