Thought with the limited palette of colours that this would be easier than it was. Still can’t get to grips with highlighting - think I may have now gone to too much paint on the brush. Still, it’s a nice scene.

Do you find it hard to highlight with yellows and reds? It might be hard to highlight a winter scene where all the highlights are white. I’m certainly not an expert but maybe try just lightly tapping for highlights. Keep it up!!
Thanks for the advice and yes, I think lightly is the way forward. I’ve taken to using the round or oval brush for highlights and find that much easier.

The sky, the mountains, the water are all very nice! The highlights, I found, are easier to do with just a light tapping. I tap in a lot of paint on the round or 1” brush. I don’t do well when I try to push upward. It comes out smudgy. So I do it other ways.
