Part of the Steve Ross challenge. It is for sure an interesting one and never difficult. This took me 55 minutes only.
Budget canvas size 10"x12". This really needs a better scale for a far better painting!
True! With these smaller canvasses, I always use the one inch brush for the bigger work (liquid white, distant trees, background bushes, water reflection).
Yepp, that tree is done with the smaller, and more flexible, fan brushes from China. Bob's are way to strong/tough to do this, specially on such smaller canvas. The tiny ones from China are perfect for this!!

Shape of the evergreen is awesome, considering the size I think it is a miracle to do it in oil. Quite sure you only used one inch brush to apply liquid white and all the rest is done with small size. Did you use that synthetic fan brush that you advertised me once?
