I finally had a little success getting the titanium white to break. Keyword is “little,” but the best I’ve done yet. This is my 23rd painting, so I’m still a noob. I discovered the titanium white I was using was the bigger problem. I had ordered Bob Ross white from the actual company in the larger plastic container and it was too thick. It was full of chunks of solidified paint. It was almost like pieces of rubber. I bought a 200ml tube and that was much smoother. Of course, many of the Ross paints are separated.
That mountain is going to climb it’s way right off the canvas!! Nice job. Paint breaking is a challenge. There’s a delicate balance between too wet and too dry in the paint. There’s an article in the article section of this site about drying paint using cardboard that I found helpful. You might also.
