I got a big 22x28 blank canvas from my work secret Santa. I wanted to paint something incredibly beautiful. So I went for “Royal Majesty”.
I have been working on this for 2 days already. Not happy about my foreground edge/cliff. Everything else, I am delighted with. I will have re work it for sure after I master the 2” brush technique on this one. I used my round and fan brush and it really doesn’t cut it. I actually try to fix it 3 times and it became more of a disaster each time. I will have to scrape that section off tomorrow.
Thank you so much Matt! It means a lot coming from you. I had to thin down my paint and barely touch the mountains with my brush in order to get it to stick. It was indeed a pretty good challenge. I have scrapped off the front cliff by the edge of the waterfall. I will re attempt it soon. I just figured out the darn 2” brush technique. Just gotta get good at it and I will be reposting that painting.
Give it another shot! I bet you’ll super exceed your first version. I want to see your new version when you make it.
Very beautiful!
Thank you Sandy! I will re post m’y updated version as soon as finished.
Super Mountains.Merry Christmas!
Beautiful and will wait to see your repost!
There is so much going on in this painting! You did a fantastic job, there are so many outstanding features. But I understand the urge to tweak a painting, lol. I just make myself wait a couple of days and step back from it before I do.
Thank you Brian. I can’t wait to finish it. I have ants in my pants. Hard not to touch it! But I want to fell satisfied about that amazing painting!
Thank you Pietro and merry Christmas to you as well! 🎄
Thanks Pam! That’s a great rule. Tho, still feel the same about it now that I did yesterday. So I will retouch it.
I just finished “Deep Wilderness Home”. Without knowing it, it had all the same elements that I struggled with in “Royal Majesty”. I feel confident that I will succeed! Merry Christmas my TIB friend!

Very nicely done. This is one of the hardest, in my opinion, of the entire series. I have would like to do it again as I did it pretty early in my BR journey. The evergreens over the mountain are very difficult going over a top all that paint. You did a super job on them.
