Royal Majesty

Sunnylady 24 Nov 2019

I was inspired to make this painting after Dracula mentioned it is actually a challenge. So I do agree! It took me 5 hours to finish. Nothing went well but the result was surprisingly pleasant.

dracula Power Painter

The mood you captured here is so great; it has much more of the feel I had hoped to get when I painted it. The colors are very well-balanced. I also really like how you painted the surface of the water; it gives the impression of movement. Nicely done!

Dracula you were so totally correct about this one: the mountain drove me crazy because of its shape. I struggled with angles there. Evergreens far away gave me hard time too. I could not figure out the color and it was making mud. However after I woke up next morning (I finished around 11 PM), I realized it got very moody and not very bad. I was thinking after I took a photo: "In this one is a big question who is really his majesty - Mountain or Waterfall?" as I happened to make them almost the same height.

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

5 hours of hard work and I dare to say it was worth every second of it! That mountain, the idea of the higher waterfall, the rocks and bushes, the vivid water …. I can glance at this for hours! WELL DONE Sunnylady! 😊

Thank you for your kindness Voy! I am absolutely happy to hear you guys like it! I am about to try still life and learn how to mix colors and paint more realistic. There is this guy on youtube in Draw Mix Paint channel who paints absolutely fantastic things and lives in Austin (this is info for Dracula). Check him out. I found few things for my consideration in his channel and website. But I still don't know if realism is truly my thing. So I'll come back after trying still life and will share if I like it.

I love your waterfall! Beautiful painting.

Thank you @ForestVueGallery!

This is absolutely gorgeous! So realistic and that waterfall is so real I can feel the waterspray from it! Great job!

@paintingblondie - thank you very much. Very happy you like it. I think it is my best still.
