Painting number 9 from season 27. I was somewhat afraid of this one. Sure, I love the woods but painting these kind of rough trees .... Anyway, I did enjoy it! Bob had a slight feeling for freestyling again so that's what I really like!
Canvas used was a low quality 16"x20". Hardest part was getting most of the brown out of my snow! Easiest was painting those big trees! In all, 90 minutes of fun!
Please enjoy!
I missed you Heather!
Thanks for cheering! I like these kind of rough trees, and specially Bob's freestyling!
Till next one!
Great painting Voy! Almighty trees! Nice brush work on the trees!
The brown in the snow looks great! You already know me, I would paint purple shadows :) and brown looks surprisingly good! The greatest thing I see here is freedom in your hand.
Dear Sunnylady, you spotted it right again!
Here, I wanted freestyle with snow and snowbanks, together with the grasses and the front three. I even took a 1 inch brush for most of the snow to apply the T-white, and then wobbled a bit with a filbert over it, with great effects!!
Could somebody tell me if Bob has more freestyle paintings then the two that I know of? (this one and 'Golden glow of morning' S27E13)
Beautiful glow and awesome trees! I really like this style and it looks so different than his normal trees.
Dear Lilikens, thanks for your cheers!
Yes, Bob felt freestyling again (a little then) and often shakes such gems out of his sleeves, much to our felight!
Till next one!
Voy, you might take a look at season 13. That’s the season where all of his reference paintings were stolen, so he was not painting that season with his concept painting to refer to. Probably the best bet for more “freestyle” since he painted that season off the cuff instead of scripted.
Gosh Heather, I know so much of Bob Ross but those stolen paintings, I'de never heard off!
Good, I'm gonna see what gold I can dig up there. Thanks for the heads up!!
