This was my sixth attempt at painting and my first oval painting. I used Bob Ross's "Winter Bliss" as a model but I took a lot of creative liberties with it. I purchased contact paper from the local Home Depot and took off the mirror from my antique dresser so I could trace it to make the oval outline. The contact paper really did not stick well at all so making this painting was extremely difficult. I had to make sure I painted inwards as to prevent the bristles from sneaking under the edge. In the end, it didn't turn out too bad, but some paint still got out of the outline. This is my favorite painting I've done so far.

Fabulous mountain, I haven't quite made friends with the knife yet. Once in place, try going over your contact paper with a hairdryer, it might help. I'm thinking of treating myself to a can of spray glue, the sort that is use on the back of photographs as it is repositionable so it should still peel off easily.
