Home Before Nightfall

Sunnylady 25 Feb 2020

I learnt how to paint shiny moon and this wonderful painting has two things that I could practice with this approach Moon and window.
This is 16 by 16 inches canvas, so I had to rework the composition that I think fits best this size.
Overall 3 hours but so much happiness after approaching portrait with live model... which was a disaster but I am sure I'll finish that challenge.

Stunned by the way you caught the different lighting (moon & window) on trees, sky, water and cabin. Great personal approach with the cabin, the water and the clouds!!

Thank you Voy! Light from the window was more challenging than the moon. Probably because I had to stay within little cabin wall :) then I realized that I need to highlight grass a bit to show the light from the window.

Romain Master of Portraits

The glows are superb and your painting looks like a dream. Well done Sunnylady!

Thank you Romain! By the way I just noticed you have got nice badge as Master of Portraits! Congrats!

dracula Power Painter

I really enjoy the mood of this painting and thank you for sharing the detailed article about painting a shining moon! Good work!

Thank you Dracula! When I finished I had thought that something in this painting reminds T.Kinkade but I don't really know what gave me this feeling. How would you characterize the mood here?

Yay! I finally uploaded photos to the article! Thanks to Felix with the help and support with troubleshooting.

Hey Sunnylady.
I really liked your painting and I used it on SoundCloud for one of my beats.
I do not make money with my music so I hope you are fine with me using it. :)
You can hit me up if you are not and I will instantly take it down.
Keep it up! - Gamkey

@Gamkey, No I don't mind at all. I liked the mood of the music that you made and assigned this painting. It took me to 1960s, old TV and cosiness of a home. I think you did great connection between audial and visual there.

Aww, that's really kind of you.
I'm glad you enjoyed my music as much as I enjoyed your painting.
I will probably use some other art of yours, I'll let you know.

This looks so pretty and peaceful

Thank you Alexandria!

I love this! I love your addition of the river. I want to move into the little house.
