Icy Lake

Sunnylady 18 Jan 2020

After working 4 hours on still life and leaving it being just mad, I decided to switch to joy of painting instead of struggle of painting. I did this rather quick for me. 2.5 hours. I changed composition as I did not really follow very closely. I think it looks quite well. Tree on the left is a bit monstrous looking, but he is just cold. 16x20 canvas. Used quite a lot of linseed oil and regretted about it couple of times.

Very soft and beautiful. Tree on right has nice detail.

The hills are beautiful. Excellent atmospheric color transition. Great work!

Love how you handled that sky and its reflection. Together with those smooth hills, it gives relaxation to the entire painting. 2,5 hours very well spent!!

Thank you Voy, I like the sky best of all. It turned to be calm but still some depth there.
