Oil on paper
9”x12”
In this panting, my goal was to evoke the peaceful fisherman’s serenity at sunset in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Despite the horrors of war that ravaged this country, I imagine a fisherman taking a few moments to lay down in his boat and savor the brilliant colors in the dusk sky.
I decided to try two new knives for this painting along with adding quinacridone magenta (which I’m experimenting using as a replacement for alizarin crimson).
