Oil on paper | 9”x12” | This painting has significant sentimental meaning for me. During a very dark season in my life, at the lowest valley in my mental health, several years ago, I would go to this spot and just soak in the sunlight during winter. I’d take a walk in the blustery cold and stop at a tree stump to center myself and pray. It was during this time that I fell in love with nature, and discovered it as a salve for my soul. I referred to this place as my “altar in nature” — a place where I could feel the most close to God.
