A very nice christmas painting (if I had children I would paint this one with them during holidays, nice result guaranteed even if the xmasballs are more balloons as on my latest version) on a grey gesso underlayer and a grey-white and black gesso underpainting using charcoal for the lantern (pattern is free to download) and bring the color in with oilpaint on a thin, a very thin layer of liquid clear. I liked the painting so much I did it twice, on canvasboard 30 x 24 cm (main picture) and on wallpaper 40 x 30 cm (other pictures).
