Picked a handful of random colors and made up a scene of a crisp, fall morning. This scene is from a beaver marsh at my local national park Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Looking to eventually do the rest of the national parks.
Definitely try again. Originals and making it up as you go is so much harder than following Bob. Would also be great to see another’s painting from the same place.
Thanks for the compliment on the tree. That came from lots of practice and making friends with the knife. That trunk was done exclusively with the knife.
I’ll let you know if I try Beaver Marsh again. I love knife painting — it’s such a different technique but creates some really neat detail.

I LOVE Beaver Marsh! I attempted to paint a scene from there a few months ago but it ended up not how I wanted. I may have to try it again. I also hope to paint a scene in or inspired by photos I take from many other National parks. Nicely done! I like the detail on the tree trunk in the foreground.
