Note: below mentioned stuff is based on my personal experience and everyone should make his own experience and build his own opinion.
As there has been a lot of discussion around about the usage of Alizarin Crimson I would like to share a few examples I think high quality paint really pays.
First example is the episode ‚sunrise At the shore‘ which has been painted after a tutorial by Bill Alexander. Here the sky and its reflection in the water used a lot of crimson. To show it’s beauty I have used the high pigmented Crimson from W & N professional. I think it really payed and it is a favorite painting of my wife.
Second one is the episode Campfire by Bob. Here a lot of people complained they didn’t get the background that intense they wanted. Here I used the same paint. I think there was a real intense background created due to this and the fact I didn’t use the liquid clear, which is yellowing once it dries.
Most of the time crimson is used as a part of a darker mixture of colors. There you can use any, it doesn’t matter.
Maybe I find some more examples, I will add it here.
Thanks Tomi. Well the pinky tone happens very easily with low pigmented crimson and liquid white. This particular piece, with the sunrise has been painted on liquid white.
Hey Tom, I think that will provide more clarity in the discussion. Thank you for that 👍🏼🇩🇪🇦🇹
Really beautiful and love the tones!
Beautiful and now I want to go pick up a tube of W&N!

I like the tone of that crimson, not as pink as less expensive paints. Just love Sunrise at the shore.
