Actually I see myself as an amateur landscape painter. But once in a while I try something different.
This is a Monarc Butterfly I painted after a tutorial by Nil Rocha. A scene which really put me out of my comfort zone. Especially the drawing part is a real challenge here to get the proportions right.
I think it worked well.
Watercolors and ink on paper A5 sized.
Very nice Tom. I think our minds are connected somehow. I was watching a monarch butterfly yesterday and thinking about trying to paint one. Well, here it is.
Awesome!
Gorgeous Tom!!! I couldn’t even tell it was watercolors until I saw the medium you used!

Beautiful. You have really captured the fragility of the butterfly. Quite stunning.

Beautiful Tom. I have 3 butterfly bushes just outside my kitchen window and there are always butterflies around.
This is a beautiful painting Tom. Very soft and gentle as befits the butterfly. Cheers
