Geranium leaf in the glass of water. Painted from still life set up in front of me.
Gouache on paper, 20x28cm.
Voy, thanks for your help!
Anytime Sunnylady!
Super well done my friend! The leaf is excellent, that water surface, that wonderful glass contouring and highlights .... you nailed it!!
This gets my vote!
Wow Sunnylady! What can I say? You always amaze me! Really so impressive.
@Voy - thank you! I had to use gouache straight from the tubes to get better coverage. I think drying also helped.
@ Doggymommee - thank you very much! You are a wonderful artist yourself.
Thank you for your votes!
Distortions underwater are so challenging and you knocked it out of the park! The contouring and reflections of the glass make it feel so 3D I feel like I can pick up the glass from the page.
The glass is great, I bet that was difficult!
@Lilikins: thank you, I was hoping it will look realistic. It was a fight honestly. With oils glass is so much easier I recall. Just more attentiveness needed when paint in oils and one brush stroke can resolve it.
@Thelandscapepainter yes, you are absolutely correct. I think the glass itself took me an hour.
Great job on the glass and leaf! An hour well spent.
