This was just a quick experiment to test out some new paints I'd bought.
10"x12" canvas. Acrylic: Turquiose. Oils: Liquid Clear, Gold, Van Dyke Brown and Titanium White.
I'd recently bought some turquoise and teal acrylic paints and metallic gold and silver oil paints. I wanted to test what the first two colours would look like as an underpainting for water scenes. After I bought the metallics I found myself wondering if you could even use a metallic paint in a landscape. So I painted two small canvases with an acrylic undercoat- one in teal and the other in turquoise. I figured I'd do a basic lake/lagoon scene on the turquise one, teaming it up with the gold and a dark brown. This was the result.
I haven't used the teal canvas yet. Might do something with black, white and silver on it.
SOOOO cool1 Love the colors and the effects of the gold.
