I think this one falls into the category of paintings that seem okay if you don't know what they were supposed to look like.
12"x12" black canvas. Oils: Liquid Clear, Indian Yellow, Alizarin Crimson, Pthalo Green, Pthalo Blue, Titanium White and Midnight Black.
A lot went wrong with this one. It was supposed to be the Milky Way, following a tutorial by Bram Bevins. I think the initial problem may have been too much of the transparent colours. Whatever it was, it lead to scrubbing off paint to recover dark areas, over-blending, and the loss of the distinct white tendrils of the Milky Way. I also had a lot more trouble flicking stars onto it than I did when I painted my Blood Moon picture. As far as I know I did it the same way both times, but this time the paint just didn't want to leave my fan brush. I ended up have to add some individually with a detail brush.
I plan to try this one again some day.
It seems very OK to me!

It looks good to me. The tutorial looks easier than it ultimately is in practice. Good work👍🏼🇩🇪
