When I first looked through the paintings in the 32nd JOP book this particular one kind of jumped out at me. I think one reason was the evergreen trees. Nic (Hankins) does this one on a 12x24 canvas instead of the typical 18x24. The skinnier canvas suits this scene very well.
Thanks much Jon!

So very beautiful and those trees are perfection!
Wow, itβs beautiful. It all looks great, and I especially like your mountains.
Ooh...I like that one. Wow, such a good job you did. I wish I could paint trees like that half as good. Very impressive!
Beautiful work all around Matt . Love the fore and mid grounds but the mountain is the star of the show for me! πβοΈ

Wow, a beautiful scene, well-crafted from top to bottom! I especially like the shadows and highlights in the mountains.
