Based on "Soul" by Buck Paulson.
His painting videos are something very different and I liked it.
After painting it i can see what i would change in the next one. This was all onto a dry canvas, and it was TOUGH to move that paint around.
I really like the movement and how soft i made all except the main wave.
So beautiful and definitely got so much movement!
I see you are moving into seascapes recently. So awesome. I love painting seas, but i never managed to get the same feel/emotion you have in this painting.
If you do not mind my 5 cents: i think eye of the both waves is a bit too light and empty. i would suggest to darken and mute distant wave eye, so the eye does not jump between two equally painted things. For the wave up close - i think muting it down would be great and adding a bit of foam inside the water. It will be easier to do when painting is dry and you go in with diluted paint with LINSEED oil and if you don't like it is super easy to wipe away and work it till you are happy with result.
What I am trying to say - that eye of the wave a bit static and argues with all this beautiful rough weather and movement you put into your painting.
Thank you both! @Sunnylady the tutorial video i followed was pretty good about guiding and explaining how to capture that movement. And at a certain point all the other seascape experience i have kicked in and i could SEE the final structure. If you get the chance just look up Buck Paulson on YT and give it a try. His compositions and style really shake things up and add a new technique and concept to your painting experience
Beautiful waves.
@sunnylady Thank you for the pointers. I am excited to get pointers about how to make the waves better
You really nailed it though. A very beautiful painting.
I have never tried a dry canvas. You've inspired me to give it a shot.
Awesome Konstantin!
This is gorgeous!!
Very pretty!
This is very pretty. Buck is fun to paint with.
Good job. I like Buck too, made several re-creations based on his tutorials.
KAS paint, if you like to try to learn about seascapes and you speak Russian - check on YouTube - Dmitry Roza. He will explain much more and his lessons are free and super detailed and he has Q&A sessions within those lessons to explain some technical things. His method will boost color mixing and understanding of water environment better.

I love how much movement you got here. Really nice and rough weather.
