I began this paiting in Feb20. I decided I wanted to paint a table top of a Bob Ross. My roommate Tim would watch me paint- which I did not like. I would always tease that him watching unmotivated me. Fast forward to June20 and sadly my roommate was killed on his way to Colorado. He had fallen asleep and hit a semi head on. Tragically I had no hopes of finishing this but Tim became my inspiration. I joked with him days before he passed that Bob Ross rarely painted structures and rarely rarely painted people. Tim had suggested the bridge on that day and I HATED it. After his passing it inspired something great within my mind/heart and I was able to finish this beast that is well loved by many of our friends, his family, and anyone who has seen it. My tribute to his life and to the Colorado views he didnt get to witness. Forever will miss this Solider.
What a lovely tribute to your friend Lil. I lost my brother two nights ago and I am working on painting to give to his wife to mark his passing which I know will be well loved. Painting is very therapeutic during times like these. It feeds the soul. Do continue to paint Lil, and post them on twoinchbrush. You are among friends here. Bless you.
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope Tim found his peace and you can find yours too.
You've created a beautiful memento of your friend.
Wow your story brought me to tears. What a lovely tribute.

Dear Lil, thank you for sharing this story and painting with us.
Tim would have loved your tribute and it is wonderful that family and friends love it as well. The bridge, angel and the flag are kept shy and thus carefully but surely draw the attention.
Hoping you will continue your painting endeavours, with Tim watching from a different world.
