I had a prepared wide canvas lying around and noticed, I had never painted something on such a format that was not a deep forest scene. I went for a winter scene since those usually don't eat up too much time and thought I could go for a nice cloudy and foggy composition.
The sky was kind of a happy accident tho! I started with my bright spot and as I went on I noticed the criss-cross strokes where kind of a hassle on such a wide canvas for what I wanted to achieve. So I focused on my bright spot and went on wie cloud patterns over my dark greyish blue liquid base which I then proceded to blend and drag over the the bright spot as clouds partly covering an already shrouded sun. I have to say I love how it turned out, quite the uniqie sky among my paintings!
Thank you Sandy! glad you like it
A-MA-ZING. The subtle lake/ice in the middle is just magic. Your depth is really amazing, i can see several little cute nooks on the left there where you can imagine a trail leading into the woods.
Exceptional as always
Thanks so much KAS! Fun fact: oftentimes I do a little pencil drawing of a painting I want to paint. In the drawing for this one there was a path from all the way back to the front. I opted not to put it in in the end because the snow turned out so nicely and I felt it would "disturb" the composition
Beautiful winter scene that looks really cold and wet!
Thank you Brian!
