I painted along with Colorbyfeliks @ YouTube on this one. Unfortunately for me he paints tutorials in acrylics. His offerings are so lovely I decided to give it a go in oil and ended up learning a lot about mixing color. 16 x 20 canvas/Gamblin 1980.
Wonderful colors and reflections!
Thank you Sunnylady & lightsnow! It was something different.
Beyond color mixing I also learned to use a sponge to paint leaves and it worked really well.
It is super creative to use something unusual for painting!
@ForestVueGallery what did you use to obtain that pink color in the sky? I never got to that color at all.
It is a mix in varying degrees of cad white, naphthol red light and cad yellow light. On the video he mixed several piles of paint before beginning, which I followed, and it made creating the shades easy. The darkest pink is just white and red. Check out his video “still water reflection”. 😉
You did an amazing job with this. I love the sky color and the reflections of the trees are so realistic looking.
@ForestVueGallery Thanks a lot! Naphtol red is beautiful color. I have only alizarin crimson, cad red, and rose mader . I will consider it for the future.
This is beautiful.
Thank you for your kind words AlexandriaC. It was a challenge that I’ll likely paint again with some variation.
I LOVE this! So beautiful and calming...
Thank you 😊
