Last week we had our 5000th original painting uploaded!

It is a great pleasure to see everyone uploading their paintings on here, interacting, and sharing tips. It is an even greater pleasure to read and hear about the friendships that are forming here on this website.

Fun Facts

I've added the ability to upload originals in April 2020. The first uploaded original (not done by me) was "Japanese Lady" by @Jin7
(The ordering when viewing the originals is a bit off since you can convert Bob Ross recreations to originals, giving them a creation date even before I added the feature.

Since April 13th 2020 there are an average of 7.5 originals uploaded every day. The most uploads happed on April 30th 2020 with 26 creations!

Our top 3 contributors are

The two most commented originals (both with 43 comments) are "Magic Sky" by @Sunnylady and "Crimson Tide" by @Voy Kay

All in all, by the time I'm writing this there have been an astounding 19433 comments added to original uploads! WOW!

Besides these 5000 uploaded paintings, I have received 7 original creations by mail (in real life). The shortest one had to travel only around 80 km / 50 miles, while the longest journey was over 15000 km (almost 10 000 miles) long! They all have a very special place in my heart.

I'm currently working on finishing up the tagging system for Bob Ross paintings. I think I'm only a rainy weekend away from finishing it, along with a detailed search function. If you want to get some last-minute tagging in, feel free to help! 🙂

How difficult would it be to find out the most painted Bob Ross paintings for 2021? I know you did it for 2020 and I'm curious to see if any changed as all. All the best!

I like Matt's idea as well. Also wondering how many members we have on here now. That would be a cool statistic to know.
