What is your goal?
- Edited
I always liked landscape paintings in all different kind of forms. But I started to paint only for one reason: I have a very stressful technical job and I searched for a hobby which brings my thoughts down. A hobby which makes me forget everything around me. Thats why I started and why I still continue.
No more reason else is there, if some people want to buy something from me I am of course pleased but if not it is also ok.
And I did not find any other hobby which relaxes me more.
So my goal is: continue painting and enjoying it!
Tom0779 I totally understand that perspective on painting. I have always found creativity to be a great stress reliever.
PeterA I love that Peter. Individuality is awesome.
My goal is to continue to enjoy every minute spent painting while trying to create something that I find appealing and to develop my own style.
Cronenberg89 I like that goal. You are killing it.
I think my goal in 2024 is to try to be more consistent with painting on a regular basis. I am challenged with living with a disabled partner and don't regularly have long stretches of time (or emotional capacity) to paint, which contributes to a continued feeling of guilt that seems to sap the creativity spirit in me.
BUT, when I find the energy and inspiration, I love the feeling of accomplishment in completing a piece and to the satisfaction to my inner (critical) artist. And recently, with my works in an art gallery (and slowly selling!), it is quite affirming to see other people enjoy my work.
Great inspirational story!
Great question Tomi! I Love painting Bob's. His style is so pleasing for the eye. As you have seen, I really enjoy adding little elements of interest in each of the recreations I do from him.
I want to keep challenging myself even more in 2024. I would like to explore more "realism" style. It mesmerizes me so much. I also will take my BR certification. I want to share the JOP with anyone that wants to learn how to paint. Bob and BA's technique really works and I believe it's one of the easiest oil painting method out there.
Maybe start selling my compositions. So many people ask me. I think it's time.
At the end of the day, I'll also echo what you said; "I would like to produce something visually pleasing"!
Nancy you will achieve anything you set your mind to! You have natural gifts to share; amazing painting skill and teaching/encouraging others. I can't not express how thankful I am to you for all of your help!
NTZArt get to selling girl! Anyone would be lucky to have a Chicky recreation or original hanging in their home and you can buy more paint! Your progress has been amazing to see N!
indicationofart awww! Thank you my friend! 🥹🥹🥹. I am and always will be here to help out. I feel so blessed to be part of such an amazing community! Thanks to you and all of our TIB friends!
Cronenberg89 you are so right my friend! I really appreciate the kick in da booty!
My goal is just to create something that I am proud of.
Great question. I actually started on this path to find a hobby for my wife, but that hasn't eventuate as yet. As mentioned by another fellow member, when you have a high stress job, you do look for those opportunities to tune out of that and to focus on things you enjoy.
Bob Ross paintings for me were mesmerizing and something that was far out of reach, although I don't claim to have any artistic talent (as yet), I am a good student, and Bob is a great teacher so will continue to learn and experiment. One day I hope to set my easel up at a great location and paint that landscape and be happy with it. Happy painting everyone!
