I have three paintings left to complete season 29 and this was one of them. Kind of neat how the scene transitions from summer into winter.
Thanks Joha. I thought they turned out OK and actually blended from one scene to the other pretty nicely.
That is really cool, love it. Your highlights are always outstanding. May I be cheeky and ask how you keep the colours so distinct? On the shows Bob always just adds a bit of yellow ochre here, bright red there, etc but I just end up with a homogenous mustard colour! Do you use a clean brush for each colour, eg your red bushes?
Really beautiful paintings with great transitions to seasons!
Thank you both Sandy & Emma. Emma to answer your question I try to keep each corner of the brush a different color. Like if I'm using the round brush one tip will be cad yellow and then maybe red on the other side. Key would be try to just load the very tips otherwise when you start highlighting you'll get a little color from the other side. This way I'm not constantly cleaning the brush. Otherwise if all else fails then I just one brush for yellows, one for the red, etc. In my opinion, it's very difficult to get nice bright/distinct highlights by using the same brush and just changing colors.
Thank you, I will give that a go this weekend.
Sounds good. I'll be anxious to see how it works for you
Very nice! Perfectly seamless transition between the 2 paintings.

For someone who doesn;t like to paint mountains are these fantastic, like both scenes very much.
