My life has gotten pretty crazy over the last few weeks, but it reminds me how important it is to make time for painting and sticking to my routine (as much as possible).
Oh I am glad you asked! I use a fan brush and a dagger brush. It just so happens I wrote a detailed article on this very topic: https://www.twoinchbrush.com/articles/evergreens
Amazing! Keep fighting the good fight. I thought the same thing about your trees and love your article! What kind of dagger brush? I looked into it and got overwhelmed with the options…
Thank you! Originally, I was using a long-bristled flat brush that I cut on the diagonal to make a dagger brush. Now I am using the smaller sizes of the Tisch dagger brush by Rosemary & Co.
That was a great article, dracula. Thanks for taking the time to write it. I also like how you make the entire tree trunk. I think I need to start doing that as well. Might help with envisioning the entire tree.
Regards.
Very nice. love the mist. and great trees, too.
What colors did you use for the sky?
@Sentramental - I think I just used the slightest amounts of yellow ochre and dark sienna. Probably a little van dyke brown to mellow the colors. But really, mostly white.
I'm guessing a little about this, though that's how I remember it. I follow along with the books (rather than the television show) and to be honest, I don't really read the descriptions/instructions much anymore (to my detriment probably); I just wing it based on the color picture.

Your pine trees are very unique looking. What brush do you use to make them? I've been trying to figure it out, but I'm coming up empty.
