I have been working through the Joy of Painting books that correspond with each season, filling in the gaps of paintings I hadn't already done. I was actually supposed to do a painting from Series 16 today, but had to jump ahead to the next painting in line that didn't included special preparation (ovals, black canvas, etc.). I don't have book 17, so I ended up deep into Series 18 on what I think may be one of my first southwest/desert-type scenes.
There was more I should probably have done with the lighting, but I was in a hurry because it turns out new puppies don't really care much if my weekend painting time is "non-negotiable." Ha!
this is awesome.....enjoy the new puppies!!!
I am not so crazy about of any of Bob's desert scenes, but you have made me a fan of this one! Really cool.
Wow. Next level painting right there. You have some serious talent.
Beautiful with such detail you’ve brought this one to life.
Beautiful
Fantastic painting as always Dracula. That rocky ridge is really special.
This is awesome. I love the vegetation and the foreground mountains. Oh yeah and the sky!
This is stunning. An amazing interpretation of his painting.
