It's been a long time since I watched this episode, but as soon as I saw it in the book, I saw an opportunity. I made an attempt to control the light, particularly on the mountain. in the original (in the book version at least), the mountain and the grass are pretty evenly lit but I thought since the strong moonlight is really mostly coming from one small break in the clouds, it should be concentrated primarily in that area. Not sure if I totally captured what I was aiming for, BUT I'm also still trying to paint faster and this was definitely my personal Bob Ross speed record at about 2 hours and 15 minutes. I wish the photograph turned out better. It's very dark around the edges so it's hard to see everything.
Beautiful. I like it that you think so carefully about light sources and composition, then you explain it so well that you make me think about these things as well...
