Mountains of Grace

Voy Kay 31 Dec 2020

Honestly, this was my second of the afternoon and I had a headache before I started! Also Steve is not my favourite painter (I prefer Bob and Dana) but for the challenge, I had to do this.
Well .... I never regretted it. Soon, it came to my notice that I was really enjoying to paint this and that about everything succeeded well (thanks goodness for NOT adding clouds!).
Family really was very pleased with the result and I believed it was my best in a week where I have done 11 paintings. Dazzling!!

Canvas used was a budget 10"x12". Hardest part was to keep the overlapping colours under control. I had troubles with highlighting the evergreens today! Easiest were the banks.

Please enjoy and till next one!

I think your evergreens come out really well and trees on the left look great! I think you did great job with shadows and highlights on all of them!

The water sits in the painting really well! The distant hills with forest are really distant and add a lot of space in the painting before the eye hits these huge granite mountain!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Thank you Sunnylady, you upgraded my spirit completely!

Happy New year, my precious friend and artistic colleague! Stay safe and keep painting!!

Happy New Year to you too my dear Friend!

You did a nice job with this one. I love the way the water moves through the painting and your shadows in your bushes and trees really allow for nice depth and separation. Yes, I agree...the banks look great!

Voy I really like what you have here and it's next up for me! I agree the baks look great!
