I think I mix more paint than I use. Mine never look like his - I'm fine with that. A lot of hairs ended up on this one, that's why I keep tweezers by the easel. ;)

Sky and water are a true gem to this painting! The tweezers tip is a really good one! Although I had to look up what it was (English is only my fourth language!).

Mine never look like Bob's either, but I also haven't been painting for 20+ years like he did. Sky looks great.
