Saw Bob’s video of this the other night and decided it would be perfect for our daughter. She loves these type of colors. I did use a soft cream color on the entire canvas before putting the contact paper on. I really liked the contrast better than the plain white.
Thank you!
This creation is on my mind since long yet I fear it since it is far from an easy one.
You did more then very well with this Lori!
I so much adore the very shy colouring in this, making this at what a 95 years old photograph would look like.
Personally .... one of your best, my honest opinion!
Thank you so much Voy. I found the light in the background to be very important. At first I covered it too much and had to go back and redo my background. Because the coloring is so muted, too much dark swallows everything. Also I had to make changes since I used the cream color on the canvas before the contact paper and black gesso. It's really not a difficult painting, in my opinion, as long as you are careful not to get too much dark. Give it a try. I think you'll enjoy it.
Beautiful painting. The trees are amazing. Which brush did you use to paint them?
I used the oval brush. I find it does best for me in these deep forest paintings.
Thanks. I guess I'll really have to buy it.
that oval brush is nice, i should get one
WOW! It looks just like the original (book) painting! Beautiful recreation Lori! 🥰
Thank you for the kind words. It's one of my favorites.
