Had some motivation, was inspired by Jin's version a few days ago but my execution of this was ... poor, to say the least. Not sure what went wrong but everything went wrong, from sky, to mountains, distant trees, bushes and snow. One light in the darkness were perhaps the evergreens. Painful!
Painted on high quality canvas 12"x16". I chose this one since I like to complete season 24. So far nine down, four to go!
yes Jin, the evergreens are the best of this failure.
I don't use Bob's oils, they are too expensive (and a bit too soft) for the product it really is. I use Winsor & Newton, study quality and I am quite happy with it.
Maybe that's the reason you had a hard time to paint mountains .
Winsor & Newton is a very famous maker. In my case Bob's paints are cheeper than them.
But you are satisfied with them so I don't say anything.
Oh, I buy them real cheap you know, online, and tubes of 200ml. It's Bob Ross that is very expensive around here, unfortunately.
Have a great weekend Jin!!
Thank you Voy. Have a nice weekend too!
This evening, I decided to clear this one. Tomorrow I will scrape all of the paint off and put a layer of black gesso on it, ready for a new painting. Then at least I saved a canvas.
This painting is just too awful to keep!
There's a first time for everything!
Yesterday, I took my pallet knife and scraped the paint of this canvas. Believe me, it looks a lot better now!!
Today, I will give the old canvas a layer of black gesso, so that I can reuse it and hopefully create some beautiful on it!
Nice mountain scape Voy.Im seaing your comment on the oils.I like Wins n Newon also.Great painting.
Dear Pietro, glad you like it yet this whole painting was a failure infatc. That can happen, no worries.
Winsor & Newton are very good and affordable oils. Bob Ross is good quality as well yet a bit more fluid and far more expensive. Also 'Van Gogh oil paints' are a good option.
Till next one!!

Dear Voy did you use Bob's paint? If not this is very hard to do .
I think your evergreens are good.
