This is gouache on a watercolor greeting card.
I love how you made distant trees look a it grey that pushed them back. Honestly I did not know gouache is a covering paint and i would never guessed white can be applied on top of black and not become transparent. The blue of water and sky is awesome. Wonderful job!
This episode/painting inspired my table piece! Your mountains are lovely!
Yes, it was really fun! The paper is hot pressed watercolor paper which is folded like a greeting card and came in a box with envelopes. I'm thinking this will be an easy way to share my paintings with with friends and family without having them feel pressured to hang anything on their walls.
Gouache is easy to clean up and dries quickly, unlike oils. But can be reactivated after it dries, unlike acrylic. I'm slowly figuring out how to control the consistentcy of the paint. With lots of water it behaves like watercolor, while straight from the tube it will layer. Since the dried layers can be reactivated, blending layers is possible. (Blend with paint, not with just water.) James Gurney has some great gouache videos on YouTube if you want to see what it can do.

How do you find it to paint with Gouache in this style? Was it more fun?
