At Dawn's Light

LJMpaintings 17 Mar 2020

My very first painting on a large canvas. I used acrylic paint and the water reflections was my favourite part.

It was difficult to decide which one of two I like more. Each of them has its own favorite parts. Here I like how you did light gray color evergreens far away.
Reflections just amazing! I wish to take lesson how you did them.

Thank you. It is a challenge keeping the canvas and paint wet , (I now use a spray bottle with water and spray the back of the canvas constantly) I try not to brush over the water too many times because it loses the reflection effect.

This is a true beauty (again!). You do a great job with acrylics there, sky, tree highlights and reflection …. it is all very eye catching!

The light in this painting is spectacular! I am always blown away when I see a painting like this done in acrylics. I have great difficulty blending with acrylics. This is amazing!! Nice work!!

Thanks again Froggie..Working with acrylics definitely has challenges. Im not ready to use oil paints yet. When I work on the sky in a painting .. I learned(the hard way) less paint is best.

That is awesome acrylics blending and reflections! I would imagine that technique takes time to master! Kudos to LJM!

Thank you @Karenkey. I did have a few fails working with acrylic. however when i finally tried painting on canvas i was experimenting with different ideas for blending. I use glycerine now with my acrylics.
