My first sea painting Bob Ross style and my 16th overall. I was hesitant for painting waves and indeed, it is quite a struggle but if you keep your head and paint thinner with it, all will be okay. The result is not bad I think, my clouds could have been a bit more sparse and perhaps some highlights on the trees would have been nice too.
I took a square canvas 14"x14", well prepared with both gessos and liquid clear. The easiest was the backgound sky without clouds, the beach and the palmtree. Toughest the waves and the water sprinkling. In all, this is really fun to do!
My advice is NOT to be afraid to use the script liner to accentuate/highlight/finish waves, rocks and beach, it will be worth it!
Congrats with first seascape! Nice job! I like your waves. You did great job!
Dear Dracula, always happy with your warming comments. Indeed, I feel better and better with the technique and I'm less afraid now to try new things. I know my limits, faults and hamperings yet I'm motivated to improve them by each painting. Thanks for viewing and till next one!
Dear Sunnylady, Always a warm heart when your cheering me, thank you so much! Hoping to do more waves in the future for sure!
Voy, i love this seascape the wave is outstanding, all so the colors you used, Great job!
Thank you very much Patoex! I tend to do a similar one very soon, but on a 20" x 20" canvas so it wil brighten up my living room! Till next one!
The wave is breathtaking! It's perfect!
Thank you Ksulli, appreciate your comment, till next one!
Dear Tom, thanks for visiting and your cheers. I can recommend this one, together with 'Tranquil seas' who is almost a twin painting to this one, and would certainly encourage you to take this one on. Sky is fairly easy and if you perfectly prepare the transparent colours for the sea, your waves should be a success. Remember to read my article about water sparkles, it might help you with some details. Good luck and till next one!

That wave is really good. It has a powerful sense of motion and weight. It seems to me that your work has reached a new level! Congratulations on a job well done!
