A Mild Winter's Day

Shocker 25 Dec 2019

Painted on paper, 30x21 cm.
Felt like the paper was too small for this technique even though i started painting on this size. Maybe i'm just used to bigger canvas now.

Looks very nice and soft! Quite small size to use with Bob's brushes in my opinion. But you did great. Is it some special primed paper for oils?

This is a beautiful painting! Aspects of it remind me of Turner's work. I am also curious about the paper and/or preparation you used.

Thank you!
It's called Acrylic/oil colour pad, the one i bought was made by sense.
I just treat it like regular canvas, mix titanium white with paint medium, put on a thin layer and paint away. I have tried to use black gesso but the paper becomes quite wavy, so i only use it when i practice.

Sounds interesting. Yesterday I was researching another brand and price per page was a bit more expensive than canvas(very cheap ones) I buy for my art works. But from the other hand using the pad would save tons of space. I dont think I am ready yet to go with linen canvas that supposed to last tens of years. I have acrylic pad but as soon it gets wet enough it gives waves. I never thought to use it for studies. Thank you for the idea!

Holy geez this looks great
