Aurora's Dance

Shocker 21 Oct 2019

I didn't have this specific painting in mind when i made this but i knew i wanted northern lights and snow covered landscape.
For some reason i couldn't get the white to blend so good with the background colors, probably had too little color on there. Otherwise i'm quite happy with how the painting turned out, first time i painted on wood as well.

Very cool! You went "out on a limb" and it paid off! ;-)

This is a fantastic idea. How is it painting on wood?

Thanks!
I don't think it's that much different from canvas but you need to sand so it doesn't have those small holes that's on the left and right side. I did not have a good time painting those areas...
But with the closest tree i just followed the contour of the wood so i didn't have to fight against it.
Also it isn't completely dry so when i had it in the balcony and it was cold, the crack contracted and after a few days in my room it expanded... Don't know what will happen with the paint if it continues to do that.

So very original and what a beautiful expansion from Bob's work.
