Morning Walk

Voy Kay 19 Dec 2019

My first try with black gesso so I took no risk and painted this on a square 10"x10" canvas board. I made quite some errors in the beginning so that influenced the end result. I should have put much more light and open sky in it. The trees were hard to do since I hardly saw what I was putting on the canvas. The path was almost a mud path, still have to learn better to mix properly.
Easiest part were the grass and the leaves. I was almost dissapointed that it needed so few in this painting!
Anyway, I know the good effect now of black gesso and yes, this time I was more careful with applying the right amount of liquid clear so that painted really very smoothly!

Almost two months without comments …. but I agree this was indeed a poor painting after all.

I just noticed this painting. They seem to get buried in the high number of postings. I like how your trees stand out and nice job on the hikers!

Dear FVG, thanks for your cheers!

This was one of my very first and I was still searching for even keeping my brushes correctly in my hand. If I were to redo this, I'm convinced it would be 5 times better with all the practice and experience I had so far.
At the moment, I have no fewer then 24 canvasses prepared and/or reserved for future paintings, so will be busy with that the next six weeks or so!
Till next one!
