The choice of painting was motivated by the fact that I happened to have a blue framed canvas in stock since about 20 years. Bob Ross had this painting on a blue background so I decided to use mine. This is only the fourth painting that I've completed on a canvas board and only the third by using oil paint.
Hardest was to get the colours right of the trees and bushes. Whatever I tried, the colour hardly differed from each other but I defenitely wanted to avoid too bright colours. The foreground holds a small still water instead of grass because I believed there was already too much grass on the painting and I happen to like some water in my creations.
The painting took me 3,5 hours from start to finish, including at least one hour of it cleaning brushes!
What I most like about this picture is that it changed daily after it was created, meaning that the colours accentuated more and better while drying.
You are on fire.. Firing on all cylinders. You are doing a great job!!!
Hahaha, maybe those trees are on fire! This was really far from my best painting MHK, which was normal since it was only the third (or fourth?) I did. Needed to learn so much still and was mud mixing too much with this one and also neglecting eye for details. I know I have improved now, if only I could show that EVERY time! :) Till next one and THANK YOU for cheering on a forgotten painting.

Two months without comments …. guess this was indeed a poor painting after all.
