A retry of this beautiful scene, this time I followed the tutorial of Paul Ranson of this Bob Ross classic, as he calls it, to try to get a better result. I had problems with the fanbrush, which was splitting in 'groups' and just as the first try I hardly could get the highlights on the bushes on the left, was the underlayer too thin, or too light or was it just the end of my concentration capability, well maybe someday a third try, I love the colors of this one, on canvas panel of 30 x 24 cm
It is beautiful
Gorgeous and one of my favorites from Bob βοΈ
Great job, Jos--love the colors in this one.
Thank you all Dirk, Cold, Brian and Jon for your comments!
You nailed the colors perfectly. I get what you mean about trying to get highlights right, and it's still somewhat a mystery to me. I think it comes down to paint consistency, and amount. Were you running out of color mixes near the end? This happens to me often, along with my concentration capabilities too!
HΓ© Jeff, thank you, hard to say what the reason of the difficult highlighting at the end was, I assume I used a thin mix for the underground, at the end the pallet becomes a bit a mess, even as my mind sometimes at the end.
This is really pretty! I always enjoy Paul's tutorials; he has helped me a lot along my painting journey :-)
This is amazing, I might follow one of Paul's videos one of these days - awesome colors on this one, and I love the highlights on the left side bushes with a bit of shine to them, amazing work! Well done!
Thank you very much Kerri and Eduardo, yeh Paul doesn't have to do it in half an hour so he takes more time to show how to do some techniques, it helps me to be more patient during painting!
