Not the most popular episode as it hasn’t been painted very often yet.
I always use the description from the book to paint. Here it has been suggested to use a mixture of liquid white and liquid clear. I didn’t really understand this, so I thought it was a mistake. But also in the TV version Bob mentioned the same. I finally decided to go only with the white as I see no benefit in using both mediums here.
A very easy one. The main thing one should care about is the depth, in my opinion . It’s tempting to make the background trees to dark, then it’s tough.
The big tree is very funny to do and very nice to practice foliage using the 1 inch brush.
That was all from last weekend, hopefully I find some time to present new pictures next week.😀

Very nice work ,Tom👍🏼🇩🇪
Bob says it: liquid clear and white because he wants a "translucent effect" (shine through) but without it, you got a great misty effect in the distance and the leaves on the main tree are beautiful, you had a lot of patience to paint them all, one by one haha!
I notice he was using transparent colours also.
A Magical scene! So well done.
One by one, you crack me up Joha, hahahahahaha!
Nice depth and love the golden tree Tom✌️
Excellent work,
Thank you Landscapepainter. In my opinion the 1-inch brush is the best foliage brush, but needs a bit of practice. I am glad you like it.
Thank you Dirk, as always.
Thanks Jos. Yes I understood what he wanted to reach, but I see no sense in it. As you say for a Autumn scene a misty effect is not the worst thing. yes indeed it took me a lot of time to paint all the leaves, around 5 minutes :D
Thank you Sandy. Glad you like it.
Thanks Brian. My tree indeed seems to be more golden than Bobs, maybe I used too much ochre :)
Thank you Cold!

I think Bobs reasoning behind mixing liquid white and clear together is the clear would knock back the strength of the white. Clear allows colour to stay true whereas white lightens it, so mixing them together he's hoping for an effect somewhere in between. Probably that's it. I wouldn't bother with it either, but then I'm not that fussed. You did a lovely job of this Tom. Your tree foliage is to die for! can't believe the results you can get with the 1 inch. Beautiful.
