As always, I was working from the book, but I think it might be worthwhile for me to go back and watch this guest episode, as I have never seen it before. I suspect her technique is a little different and I bet I could learn something by watching her in action.
What book? Would you recommend it or is it better to just watch an episode and start and stop as needed? Beautiful painting. Very well done!
Great job. The guest painter here was a student from Bill Alexander. She painted several episodes along with Bill or alone which are available at the Alexander Art YouTube Channel.
Just wow so incredibly stunning!
I like your version better
Thank you all! I really appreciate your kind words!
@Caylakas - Ah, yes, I should have explained. For each series of the Joy of Painting, Bob painted 3 versions: his original reference version, the TV version you see him paint, in real time, in the program, and then a final, more detailed copy that would be photographed for publication in the books I was referring to. There is a book for each series that has a color photo of the 3rd version of the painting + all the instructions for painting it, written out in a few pages of instructions. Since I have painted many Bob Ross paintings, I can anticipate what techniques he will use so, using the books is much easier for my workflow. However, sometimes, with special guests or unusual techniques, I am probably at a disadvantage in not watching the TV episode.
@Tom0779 - I did not know that she was Bill Alexander's student (which reveals that I don't read the instructions very much either in the books lol). That makes sense, there is a bit of his rugged quality to her painting that I wish I had captured more of. Thanks!
Stunning scene Drac!
