I thought “Snowy Solitude” would bring a little relief from our hot, humid weather. I enjoyed working on this painting. It’s funny how the scene changes as you work on it. I had problems with the foreground snow. It got pretty muddy looking. The actual painting shows a little better color with more light blue shadows in the snow. The photo makes it look more like sand. Any critique is appreciated
EDIT…there is something about this painting that leads my eye from the foreground to the mid-ground then finally to the background without having an actual path. I really like the depth that it instills. For me that’s a win.
Now I have to work on technique and color.
Thank you!

This is so nice! How do I know? Because I want to keep looking at it! It almost feels monochromatic. I really love this! Nice job Don!
