Evergreens at Sunset

VanGoshISH 18 Jul 2024

So this one was a fun one to paint and quicker than most. The pic came out a tiny bit crooked. Overall, I think it came out okay. My yellow gesso was more golden yellow then lemon yellow. The only thing I would have done different would be to lighten up the top ground a little more. I use canvas board for this series so it wasn't smooth. Smooth regular canvas would have made this kind of "dry" painting better.

Very nice

I like it as it is, it’s very colorful and very cool effects also. Some paintings are really awesome when done with color statements so to speak. I painted Bob Ross’s Copper Winter, which is “unnatural” ir non realistic but my goodness, it’s stunning because of the special effects and colors. Your painting is unlike any other, and that’s why it’s gorgeous!

I think this one is very cool! I like the way you painted your sun sitting back there ready to sink!

Thank you everyone! Very kind of you all. :) And yes I agree Steph the "unnatural" ones can sometimes be the best paintings.

Wow, that is one fierce sky--nice work!

Thank you, jl!
