Well this was interesting. I'm not completely satisfied with the sky, I added liquid clear to my indian yellow so it flowed a bit better, but then I wasn't careful enough while blending so the black ate up most of my yellow. Loved doing the foreground with just black. I really like the dark and spooky effect of the painting. I guess it's a moonrise and not a sunset. Especially because tomorrow is full moon.
This is an excellent painting Umagaan.
What draws my full attention is the open sandy spaces between the trees that gives an extraordinary contrast. Those two tall trees are so shy, they hardly want to take over any space yet they draw more then sufficient eye focus to them.
A true gem!
Thanks Colin 😁
Thank you Voy! I really tried to leave enough light areas between the dark ones so that the painting doesn't loose depth. And those tall trees really are a bravery test.
The sky in this one really is a challenge in my opinion. I also used liquid clear and it helped with blending. I really like the look of this. Very nice light around the sun and the trees in the front are subtle but demand your attention without taking anything away from the background. Very nice!
Thanks LoriEC 😁
Wow! I like the dark silhouettes of the forest against the moonrise sky
Great job. I’ve had some success doing that sky technique with another painting of mine with other colors here https://www.twoinchbrush.com/originals/ironchefmitty/melting-to-midori

I like it. Plenty to keep you looking around, and into, the painting.
