Marshlands

So overall I think this one came out okay. The shape of the lake is different from his and I didn't really have enough room on the bottom for a little path. I think black canvases are harder to photograph than the white ones. They tend to come out shinier, which then causes a little glare.

Beautiful! How do you make the Spanish moss on the tree?

Thank you, Stephi! Painting the tree moss is fun. The way he explains it is you basically take a FANBRUSH (I find that the smaller fan brushes work better)and similar to the process of making water falls, you add a little white to the fan brush that already has some color you've used for the painting and start at the top of the branch and just move the fan brush a tiny bit to the right and then straight down. This gives it the illusion that the moss is hanging off the branch coming from the other side that can't be seen and like it's hanging over the branch. The fan brush will pick up the other colors and then with the white it makes it look like there is moss hanging over the branch. Hope that helps! :)

*I meant with the white paint, it gives it a little highlight on the moss

Your painting looks great Cynthia, well done, cheers

Thank you, Dave!
